Requirements
• Proven experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering role, ideally in a startup or product-focused environment. • Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, SQS, SNS etc.) and cloud-native architecture. • Strong experience with CI/CD tools and practices, ideally GitHub Actions. • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform) and scripting languages (Python, Bash). • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes). • Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and system performance monitoring. • Experience implementing and managing security controls and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2), including hands-on work with identity management, encryption, and audit logging. • Experience supporting modern web stacks, especially applications built with React, Next.js, and Python-based services. • Bluefish believes that AI represents the next major chapter of the internet – and that consumers will increasingly use AI to consume information and media online. On this new AI internet, brands will need new tools and technologies to tell their stories to consumers online – and a new marketing ecosystem will be created around AI. Bluefish is building the platform that helps brands engage consumers on this new AI channel, with powerful enterprise tools to manage AI brand safety and engage consumers with thoughtful and personalized AI marketing experiences. • The Bluefish team is a tight-knit group of mar-tech industry veterans who previously helped build foundational ad-tech platforms now owned by Meta and Microsoft. We are a globally distributed team, with business operations based in New York City and engineering based in Berlin.
Responsibilities
• This role is remote in Germany. • Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using best practices (e.g., IaC, security, cost optimization, monitoring). • Define and implement infrastructure standards, policies, and governance (e.g., IAM, group permissions, access control) • Develop, operate, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and other tools to support fast and safe deployment of our applications and services. • Collaborate with engineering teams to define infrastructure requirements and help shape deployment strategies for frontend and backend applications. • Proactively monitor system performance, availability, and reliability. Implement observability tooling and incident response processes. • Automate provisioning, scaling, and recovery of infrastructure using tools like Terraform. • Identify and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks (e.g., database scaling, system performance constraints). • Lead initiatives around infrastructure security and compliance, including access control, vulnerability management, secrets management, encryption, and audit readiness. • Ensure systems meet relevant security and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR), and support internal and external audits. • Mentor engineers on DevOps best practices, advocate for clean and scalable infrastructure design, and help build a strong engineering culture.
