Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, secure, and performant software at scale. • Solve tough, technical problems — from performance bottlenecks to architectural improvements. • Contribute to a mature, complex codebase by navigating it effectively and improving its quality. • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code that is beneficial for future self and teammates. • Share expertise through conducting code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring activities. • Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver user value by challenging assumptions and refining ideas from an engineering perspective. • Influence the roadmap by identifying technical opportunities and trade-offs that impact Matomo's growth. • Stay informed about the "who" and "why" behind what is being built, ensuring alignment with user needs and company values. • Act as a culture multiplier to raise standards of work ethic within the team by bringing energy, curiosity, and drive for excellence. • Improve engineering practices, processes, and standards proactively while taking initiative in shaping solutions and identifying risks early on. • Help define what excellent engineering looks like at Matomo as part of company growth efforts.
