Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify potential suppliers.
- Create RFQs, review quotations from suppliers, analyze them, clarify any ambiguities, develop sourcing recommendations considering cost, quality, lead time, and technical aspects.
- Thoroughly negotiate contracts including parts pricing, tooling costs, and Engineering Services (NRE / EDT).
- Work with suppliers and Engineering to release parts into production and issue purchase orders for Prototype Parts and both prototype/production Tooling.
- Manage supplier development timelines, part availability for prototyping builds or the start of full production, develop solutions to delays or problems that arise.
- Maintain overall supplier relationships as a point of contact for all commercial issues including internal report summaries on sourcing status and parts cost status.
- Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers for business reviews and program assessments.
