Requirements
• At least 4 years of experience in a similar role. • Proven experience developing scripts in Python, Terraform, or Bash. • Solid understanding of GCP, Okta (APIs and Orchestrator), and Google Workspace. • Knowledge of professional best practices for the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management (GitHub), and build processes.
Responsibilities
• Build and maintain critical automation platforms, such as an Automation Service Gateway, to standardize how services are exposed and secured within IT Operations. • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and develop new processes following best practices for development, test, and implementation. • Partner with stakeholders to replace manual workflows with scalable, compliance-driven systems. • Provide Tier 2 and 3 support and troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors and internal teams when elevated support is required.

• IT Operations Automation Engineer - Canada - L4The yearly total compensation for this position ranges from 150 000$ to 180 000$ CAD. Base salary will be determined by candidates' relevant qualifications, knowledge, skills and work experience. Total compensation will include a solid base salary and will also include equity (options), potentially a sign-on bonus and other potential incentives as per the "perks and benefits" section. Autofilling key fields... • or drag and drop here • Yes, I'm legally allowed to work in said location and won't need any immigration/ VISA support. • Yes, but I will need immigration or VISA support. • No, I am unfortunately not legally allowed to work in said work location. • I primarily use the web console/GUI to manage users, groups, and cloud resources. • I use basic command-line tools for troubleshooting, but I do not write custom scripts to manage infrastructure. • I manage infrastructure and identity services through code (Terraform) or custom scripts (Python/Bash), following SDLC best practices like version control and code reviews. • I have managed IT teams that perform these tasks, but I am no longer hands-on with scripting or Terraform. • I build custom integrations and orchestration workflows leveraging REST APIs, Webhooks, and tools like Okta Workflows or custom Python services. • I use basic out-of-the-box integrations provided by the vendors (No-code tools only). • I manually export and import CSV files between systems to keep them in sync. • I identify the need for integrations and then hire external consultants to build the automation logic. • I write the script on my local machine and run it directly against the production environment. • I utilize a full SDLC process, including storing code in GitHub, performing peer code reviews, and testing in a non-production environment before deployment. • I save my scripts in a shared folder or local drive for the team to access when needed. • I provide the logic to the DevOps team and ask them to deploy it for me.
