Requirements
• Professional Qualification: Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). • Core FP&A Competence: Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end management reporting within a commercial environment. • Technical Proficiency: • Advanced Excel capability (complex modeling and data manipulation). • Strong analytical skills with a focus on variance analysis and KPIs. • Experience with intercompany recharges and accrual management. • Operational Awareness: Ability to navigate P&L variances and revenue recognition (contracted vs. intent revenue). • Commercial Curiosity: A natural desire to look "beyond the numbers" to understand the operational drivers of the business. • Communication Excellence: The ability to translate complex financial data into clear, persuasive narratives for non-financial stakeholders. • Detail Orientation: A meticulous approach to reporting and modeling, ensuring precision in a fast-paced environment. • Proactive Mindset: The confidence to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to challenges from group-level leadership.
Responsibilities
• Financial Planning & Reporting: Lead the budgeting, monthly forecasting, and Long-Term Planning (MRP) processes. Own the month-end reporting cycle, ensuring total accuracy in Revenue and COGS accounting. • Strategic Commentary: Deliver high-impact month-end analysis and presentation decks for Sony, highlighting key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities. • Commercial Modelling: Develop robust financial models and business cases to evaluate new product investments, business bids, and customer contract renewals. • Business Partnering: Act as a key advisor to Project Managers and department heads (Marketing, IT, HR) to manage overheads, review client delivery variances, and assess impact on annual projections. • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead monthly revenue sessions with senior management and represent the P&L in meetings with the Sony CFO, confidently addressing challenges and queries. • Ad Hoc Analysis: Support the Finance Director with deep-dive analysis on headcount, resource utilization, and the impact of shifting market variables.
