Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience. • 5+ years of professional software development experience. • Strong expertise in at least one modern backend or systems language (e.g., Golang, Python, Java, or Ruby). • Experience designing and building APIs, distributed systems, or developer platforms. • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB). • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures. • Ability to balance technical tradeoffs with product and business impact. • Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional teams. • The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are: • Zone A: $149,450 - $211,100 + equity + benefits • Zone B: $164,395 - $$232,210 + equity + benefits • Zone C: $179,340 - $253,320 + equity + benefits • Zone D: $194,285 - $274,430 + equity + benefits • This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates based on their respective Zone. Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot backend systems to ensure high performance and reliability. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and quality assurance engineers to align technical solutions with business goals. • Implement security best practices in the design of software applications to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches. • Continuously monitor system performance using tools like New Relic and Datadog; provide regular reports on backend health, including uptime statistics and error rates. • Design scalable database schemas that can handle increased loads without degradation in response times as the user base grows. • Write clean, maintainable code following our coding standards to facilitate future development efforts by other engineers or teams. • Participate actively in sprint planning and retrospectives; provide technical input on prioritization of tasks based on business needs and project timelines. • Stay current with the latest industry trends, best practices for backend engineering, and emerging technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive and innovative.
