pexa - Senior Software Engineer
Requirements
• You’ll have substantial experience building and supporting software in a collaborative engineering environment. You’ll be confident working through complex technical problems and making sound decisions about how to solve them. • We’re particularly interested in people with: • Advanced backend experience in Node.js, Python or Kotlin, or full-stack experience with modern frontend frameworks. • A good understanding of APIs, microservices, distributed systems and software architecture. • Experience with automated testing, performance testing and system monitoring. • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, plus CI/CD, containers and infrastructure as code. • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including data modelling and performance optimisation. • A practical understanding of security best practice. • The ability to explain technical ideas clearly and work well with people in different roles. • An interest in supporting other engineers through mentoring, thoughtful code reviews and knowledge sharing. • You don’t need experience with every technology we use. Our teams work across tools including Kubernetes, Docker, Splunk, Postman, Snowflake, Databricks and dbt, and the mix varies by team. • It would be useful if you also have • Experience in financial services or another regulated environment; familiarity with TDD, DDD or BDD; or experience building high-performance systems. Knowledge of machine learning or AI integration, or involvement in open-source communities, would also be welcome. • Our engineering teams are trusted to make decisions and take responsibility for quality from development through to production. You’ll have room to build deep expertise in your chosen area while learning from colleagues across different technologies and disciplines. • We value curiosity, collaboration and practical problem-solving. Responsibilities
• You’ll be a technical specialist in either backend or full-stack engineering, contributing to the design and delivery of software that supports our property platform. You’ll own features from early discussion through to production, helping make sure they’re reliable, secure, scalable and easy to maintain.
