Requirements
• Experienced Infrastructure Engineer: 4-10 years of experience with production systems and deep understanding of infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps concepts at scale. • Systems Programming Expert: Strong skills in Rust or Go, with the ability to build high-performance, secure systems. • Bonus points if you've contributed to execution layer/node projects like Geth, Reth, or rbuilder. • Excellent Communicator: Whether working independently or leading cross-functional teams, you have exceptional communication and coordination skills for our remote-first, global environment. • Impact-Driven: You're motivated by solving hard problems that have asymmetric impact and strike at the core of crypto's infrastructure challenges. • Ethereum Infrastructure Experience: Experience running Ethereum infrastructure, such as clients, builders, rollup sequencers, or MEV-Boost components. • Open Source Contributions: Contributed to open-source infrastructure tooling or participated in protocol engineering discussions. • Trusted Execution Environments: Worked with TEEs, secure enclaves (like Intel TDX), or other trusted compute primitives - particularly relevant as we migrate our infrastructure to TEE-based systems. • High-Performance Systems: Built high-throughput or latency-sensitive systems (e.g., trading infrastructure, real-time data processing). • Blockchain Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep understanding of MEV, L2 scaling solutions, or DeFi protocols. • Details that matter • Unlimited PTO with a high level of freedom and autonomy for your work • Attractive health coverage package for US employees • $3000 Yearly budget for your individual learning and development goals • Work alongside the brightest minds in the crypto space • Help save the world by ensuring crypto remains decentralized, permissionless and censorship-resistant • Remote working, while we have a preference for EU/US time zones, you can work from anywhere in the world • Paid travel - 2 x team on-site in different parts of the world per year plus periodic travel to events • At Flashbots, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. Responsibilities
• Lead Infrastructure Development: Lead or support development of high-performance backend infrastructure for rollups, including block builders, sequencers, and decentralized execution environments powered by TEE technology. • Own Critical Infrastructure: Own key infrastructure components across CI/CD, observability, automation, and runtime performance tooling that support our production systems serving millions of users. • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with protocol, research, and backend teams to design infrastructure that balances fast UX with decentralization goals and censorship resistance. • Production Excellence: Debug production systems at the OS, network, or runtime level and drive reliability improvements across the stack to maintain our industry-leading uptime standards. • Open Source Leadership: Contribute to and lead open-source infrastructure projects that advance the MEV ecosystem and blockchain scalability.
