Requirements
• 5+ years of directly related experience. • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Engineering, technical degree or related discipline, and five years of directly related experience. • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are required. • Must have and maintain a current DoD Secret clearance. • Advanced knowledge of enterprise LAN, WLAN, and WAN design, implementation, administration, and troubleshooting. • Expertise with networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRRP, RSTP, PPP, and HDLC, with a strong understanding of the OSI model. • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex enterprise network environments using Cisco routing, switching, wireless, firewall, and VPN technologies. • Experience utilizing enterprise network monitoring, automation, and management tools, including Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, and Ansible. • Experience implementing and maintaining enterprise network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and secure network architectures. • Experience supporting DoD, DHA, or Military Health System (MHS) enterprise network environments. • Experience with Windows enterprise networking, Active Directory, and multi-vendor network infrastructures. • Experience developing technical documentation, network standards, policies, procedures, and change management documentation. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical leadership skills, with experience leading complex network modernization and infrastructure initiatives. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with government personnel, healthcare stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional technical teams. Experience with Zero Trust Architecture is preferred. • Location: • This position is based in Yokosuka, Japan and is primarily performed in an office or government facility supporting enterprise network operations. • Approximately 50% travel to customer sites or data centers may be required. • Work Environment and Physical Demand: • The role requires prolonged computer use, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and occasional bending, climbing, or working in telecommunications spaces to install or maintain network equipment. • Participation in after-hours maintenance and on-call support may be required. • The projected salary range for this position is $125,000+ annually. Responsibilities
• Design, implement, configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure supporting Defense Health Agency (DHA) facilities throughout the Pacific region. • Serve as the regional technical lead and primary point of contact for network engineering, configuration management, routing, and communications. • Diagnosing and resolve complex network issues across all layers of the OSI model using enterprise network management and diagnostic tools. • Install, configure, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless infrastructure, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). • Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity using tools such as Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, Ansible, MIBs, and MRTG, implementing improvements to maximize performance and minimize downtime. • Develop, maintain, and enforce network architecture standards, technical documentation, policies, procedures, and configuration baselines in accordance with DoD and DHA requirements. • Evaluate emerging technologies and vendor solutions, providing recommendations for network enhancements, upgrades, and modernization initiatives. • Coordinate with government personnel, contractors, vendors, and technical teams to plan, deploy, and support enterprise network infrastructure. • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex network incidents and provide technical guidance to Network Specialists and other engineering staff. • Support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives by implementing and maintaining secure network architectures and ensuring compliance with applicable security policies and regulations. • Prepare technical reports, change requests, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other documentation supporting network operations and change management. • Participate in network projects, infrastructure upgrades, and other mission-critical initiatives while ensuring minimal disruption to healthcare operations. • Communicate project status, network performance, and operational recommendations to government stakeholders and leadership. • Ensure network services meet availability, reliability, performance, and security requirements in support of the DoD medical mission. • Perform other related duties and technical assignments as required..
