Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience designing, building, and operating production systems • Deep understanding of system design, distributed systems, and scalable backend architecture • Experience integrating external APIs and building reliable data pipelines • Interest in mentoring engineers and shaping engineering culture as the company grows • Curiosity about how AI is changing software development and interest in AI-assisted engineering workflows • Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment with high ownership and end-to-end responsibility • Experience working with high-scale data pipelines or real-time data processing systems • Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools such as AWS, Pulumi, Postgres, ClickHouse, or similar technologies • Experience integrating AI or machine learning systems into production environments • Previous experience working at an early-stage or rapidly scaling startup

Responsibilities

• Design and build core backend systems: We ingest high volumes of social data in real time from platforms like Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn, run AI agents on that content, and surface insights through analytics dashboards. You'll work across this pipeline — building resilient integrations with third-party APIs, optimizing AI workload costs, and scaling the infrastructure underneath it all. • Design and build core backend systems • Drive operational excellence: improve reliability, build on-call culture, and mature our systems as we onboard more customers and process 10-100x more data. • Drive operational excellenc • Shape technical direction: write architecture docs, make tool and infrastructure choices, and mentor other engineers. There are no silos here, and engineers have the freedom to work across our entire product and infrastructure stack. • Shape technical direction • Our tech stack is TypeScript, AWS, Pulumi, Postgres, ClickHouse, and Turbopuffer. We use AI tools thoughtfully to optimize day-to-day work — Cursor, Claude Code, Graphite, v0/Replit, and Granola.

Benefits

• Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity • Health, dental, and vision insurance with 401(k) matching • Hybrid work model (Palo Alto office, 3 days/week in-office collaboration) • No silos - engineers have the freedom to work across our entire product and infrastructure stack, and participate directly in product decisions
