Grounded RV - Senior Technician
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent • 10+ years professional experience in construction or automotive hardware installation • Demonstrated experience across complete mechanical design project lifecycles • Ability to work with minimal guidance • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities • Strong communication and team collaboration skills • Technical drawing and manual comprehension; basic technology proficiency • Automotive, RV, military, or high-volume operating environment background • Health insurance • Equity in the company
Responsibilities
• Fabrication of prototype and production hardware using carpentry expertise • Own fit and finish modules in final customer products • Perform hands-on operations with large and small, often fragile, assemblies • Interpret blueprints and follow procedures and specifications • Operate a variety of mechanical tools independently • Collaborate with production engineers on activity development and documentation • Provide manufacturing feedback to engineering design • Ensure timely, safe, and professional production services • Lead and oversee physical builds of interior vehicle systems • Help establish production culture, processes, and standards

• Standard$24 – $28 per hour • Detroit, MI (in-person) • Grounded is a 25-person Detroit-based startup building modular electric platforms for specialty vehicles. We take cab chassis from OEMs like Ford and Harbinger and build configurable vehicle systems on top, serving mobile healthcare, RVs, command centers, food and beverage, pet care, and more. Our customers include Colgate, Nokia, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and Portland PD. We've raised ~$5M in VC funding and are shipping vehicles in market today. • We also build our own software: a mobile app, fleet dashboard, and onboard computer system that lets customers monitor and control vehicle systems remotely. We design, fabricate, and assemble everything in-house at our facility in Corktown. • As a Senior Technician (Carpentry — Walls / House Frame of Specialty Vehicles), you will support the fabrication of prototype and production hardware using your carpentry expertise, owning the fit and finish modules in our final customer products. You will lead, oversee, and participate in all physical builds of interior vehicle systems, and help establish our production culture, processes, and standards.
