Requirements

Within that group, the indirect tax function owns global indirect tax obligations in more than 50 jurisdictions (across US, Canada, EMEA and APAC). This role works in a lean team structure with broad ownership and close partnership across Finance, Legal, Sales, and Billing, using asynchronous collaboration to support work across regions and changing regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end global indirect tax compliance (US SUT, Canadian GST/HST and EMEA/APAC VAT/GST), including nexus analysis, return preparation, filing, payment, and ongoing threshold monitoring, to maintain timely, accurate filings and reduce indirect tax compliance risk. • Assess software as a service (SaaS) taxability rules and maintain current taxability guidance for transactions across relevant jurisdictions, to improve tax determination accuracy as products and transactions evolve. • Assess • Oversee exemption certificate processes and tax engine configuration, including rate accuracy and transaction tax logic within Avalara, to improve transaction accuracy and reduce manual rework. • Oversee • Perform monthly accruals and quarterly reconciliations for indirect tax accounts and maintain supporting documentation for control readiness, to support accurate reporting and stronger audit and SOX readiness. • Perform • Collaborate with Sales, Billing, Legal, and Accounting on indirect tax matters related to customer structures, product launches, and new business activities, to enable compliant go-to-market decisions and smoother launches. • Collaborate • Drive process improvements focused on automation, operational efficiency, and scalable controls, including AI-enabled enhancements to compliance workflows, to strengthen filing and reconciliation processes over time. • Drive
