Responsibilities
• Develop and execute partnerships that deliver revenue growth while protecting the premium positioning of The Economist and Economist Education. • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of partnership opportunities, from early-stage discovery to signed agreements and live launches • Identify and evaluate potential partners (e.g., professional bodies, business schools, corporate learning platforms, learning aggregators and other intermediaries) and drive outreach and engagement • Shape partnership proposals and commercial models (e.g., minimum guarantees, revenue share, bulk licensing, co-branded programmes, platform delivery structures) • Negotiate terms and conditions, working closely with legal, finance and other stakeholders • Lead partner onboarding and activation, including launch planning, marketing coordination and operational readiness • Manage partnership relationships and performance, tracking activity and revenue, analysing data, and recommending improvements • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, operations and legal to deliver successful partnerships • Ensure partnership agreements are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, aligned with The Economist Group’s editorial guidelines, and operationally viable. • The desirable skills for this role include: • Proven track record of building and maintaining successful commercial partnerships, ideally in education, professional services, media, membership, platforms or adjacent sectors • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including confidence with senior stakeholders • Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills; comfortable working with complex partnership structures and multi-stakeholder decision processes • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to model partnership economics and evaluate trade-offs • Solid spreadsheet skills and ability to build and interrogate financial models for partnership proposals • Strong project management skills with the ability to take partnerships from agreement to launch and ongoing performance • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and moving parts • Strong sense of ownership; resourceful, collaborative and able to make progress through ambiguity • Attention to detail and high standards of execution • Degree in business, marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience) • Working Arrangements • The majority of our roles operate on a hybrid working pattern, with 3+ days office attendance required. • AI usage for your application • We are an innovative organisation that encourages the use of technology.
