Pear VC - Frontend Engineer
Requirements
• Frontend: Solid.js (React alternative), Tailwind CSS, TypeScript • State Management: Zustand (preferred), React Query for data fetching • Tools: PostHog (analytics/A/B testing), Figma, PNPM monorepo • Infrastructure: Vercel, NEON DB with branching • Strong frontend fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript) • Experience with React or similar frameworks (we use Solid.js - easy to learn) • Obsessive attention to design details and spacing • Ability to work independently and ship fast • Comfortable with rapid iteration and experimentation • Experience with Solid.js, Zustand, or similar modern tools • A/B testing and growth experimentation background • Education or impact-focused product experience • Familiarity with accessibility standards
Responsibilities
• Design Implementation: Convert Figma designs to production code with extreme attention to detail (10px vs 15px matters) • Growth Experiments: Ship A/B tests through PostHog, implement feature flags, and iterate based on data • Rapid Iteration: Work in tight cycles with our designer - design in morning, ship by EOD • Component Development: Build and maintain our design system using Solid.js and Tailwind • Performance: Ensure fast, responsive experiences across devices (many teachers use older Chromebooks)
