Requirements
• Have a minimum of 8 years experience as a software engineer • Experience with at least one of the following technologies: Python, Rust, and/or Go • Experience with shipping vertical features both individually and as part of a larger team. • Previous experience with SaaS products (SOA preferred) • Minimum requirement of Bachelors degree in related field (computer science, computer engineering, etc.) • Have an excellent level of English, both written and spoken • You are a good fit if you: • Have strong fundamentals in a variety of software development paradigms (e.g. object oriented, functional) • Understand trade-offs and are able to articulate the pros and cons of each option • Have used or want to use AI driven development tactics • Have worked on distributed systems at scale • Are comfortable managing ambiguity and driving clarity and innovation • Understand how to make tradeoffs to ship useful features today without sacrificing long-term quality • Are highly motivated and able to build alignment across stakeholders • Can operate independently and unblock yourself when needed • You'll have an edge if: • Have extensive knowledge in AI development tactics with successful implementation examples • Are a Rust subject matter expert • Have previous experience with Kafka at scale • Have previous experience with automated testing • Have experience working on a distributed team
Responsibilities
• Evolve dbt’s architecture to keep up with our fast growing customer base and scaling needs • Be a key contributor to the development of dbt Platform and its telemetry ingestion platform • Be an advocate for software engineering best practices • Develop a robust software framework for seamlessly developing application platform features into dbt Platform. • Collaborate closely with product teams, and other stakeholders. • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
