We expect you to push for excellence and raise the bar. • As our Backend Engineer, you’ll build and own critical features end-to-end, increasing product velocity and powering DualEntry’s AI-native ERP. This is an intense, hands-on role with full ownership. • 📍 Location: Remote with overlap to our New York City HQ (EST) • Where you'll create impact • You’ll own end-to-end execution for backend systems and infrastructure • You’ll build APIs, services, and real-time systems handling complex accounting logic • You’ll collaborate with founders, product, and frontend engineering to turn complex workflows into secure, performant systems • You’ll design, implement, and ship production-ready features at high speed • You’ll manage data migrations, scaling challenges, external integrations, and end-to-end reliability • You’ll drive measurable outcomes that accelerate DualEntry’s product velocity and stability • What sets you up for success • Hardcore work ethic and high agency • 10 years of overall experience, or at least 5 years of strong AWS-focused engineering experience. • Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, networking, etc.). • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.). • Strong background in CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar). • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment workflows. • Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.). • Comfortable working independently to build new systems and processes from the ground up. • Time zone flexibility to support partial 24-hour coverage is preferred. • How You Operate • Pragmatic: you like to move forward and make decisions based in reality (not theory).
