Responsibilities
• Draft and file high-quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) that provide clear, concise narratives for law enforcement and regulators. • Perform end-to-end investigations into complex customer activity to identify potential suspicious activity, such as money laundering, identity theft, and fraud. • Compare Know Your Customer (KYC) information to Sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) lists to verify false and true positives. • Analyze transaction patterns and customer profiles to determine if activity is consistent with a customer's known occupation or business purpose. • Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to refine automated monitoring rules and reduce false positives while maintaining high detection standards. • Stay ahead of emerging financial crime trends and regulatory changes to ensure Acorns' controls remain "game-changing" and effective. • Assist with internal audits and external regulatory examinations. • Proven experience in BSA/AML compliance, specifically within a fintech or high-volume financial services environment. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect disparate data points to form a comprehensive view of customer behavior. • Technical proficiency with AML monitoring software and case management systems. • Excellent written communication skills, with a focus on precision and clarity in investigative reporting. • Hunger to deliver game-changing products. • Exceptional drive and precision in delivery. • A belief that your work is tied to your life's mission. • Optimistic about the potential of societal change. • You are not expected to have experience with all listed requirements. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including equity grants, and discretionary cash bonus awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
