Responsibilities
• We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Audience team, which is responsible for how customers define, segment, and manage audiences across Iterable. This team owns the core services and product surfaces that let customers explore their contacts and build, maintain, and activate precise audiences. • You will balance people leadership with strong technical judgment, helping the team ship high-quality features in a high-scale, data- and privacy-sensitive domain. This role sits within the broader orchestration area and is critical to how Iterable targets the right users for every journey and campaign. • Lead and support a team of backend and frontend engineers. • Partner closely with Product and Design to evolve audience capabilities into intuitive, scalable user experiences. • Take ownership of hard reliability and guardrail decisions, setting clear boundaries that protect platform health while enabling customer flexibility. • Drive execution across multiple initiatives, balancing short-term delivery with sustainable technical direction. • Foster strong engineering practices around code quality, testing, documentation, and iterative delivery. • Coach and mentor engineers, supporting career growth and healthy team dynamics. • Collaborate with other engineering teams to align on dependencies, and shared goals. • Contribute to hiring and onboarding as the team grows. • We Are Looking for People Who Have: • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience. • 3+ years of experience managing and growing software engineering teams. • Strong background in application or platform engineering, ideally in a SaaS environment. • Experience owning mission-critical services with strict availability and performance expectations. • Strong technical judgment across system design, APIs, distributed systems, and developer workflows. • Experience designing and operating large-scale, distributed document indexing and query systems • Ability to navigate ambiguity, make pragmatic trade-offs, and drive execution across multiple initiatives. • Experience operating production systems at scale, including on-call and incident response. • Excellent communication skills and ability to align technical work with business and product goals.

Within this range, individual pay is determined by specific US work location, as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and internal equity considerations. • Please note that the range listed above reflects only base salary. The total compensation package includes variable pay (where applicable), equity, plus a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and financial.
