IFT - Status Manual QA / Product Tester (Part time)
Requirements
• Experience with manual QA, product testing, app testing, or a strong interest in developing in this area. • Should be a strong mobile messenger app user. Experience with crypto wallets and mobile browsers is a strong plus. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies, bugs, or confusing user flows. • Clear written communication and the ability to document issues in a structured way. • A user-focused mindset and willingness to test features from the perspective of real users. • Comfort using and testing mobile and desktop applications. • Ability to follow testing guidance, ask good questions, and work collaboratively with Product, Engineering, and QA. • Curious about leveraging AI in manual and semi-manual testing to optimize and reduce repetitive QA work. • Experience testing iOS, Android, desktop (Windows/MacOS), or web applications. • Familiarity with bug-tracking tools or release testing processes. • Experience writing documentation, test notes, or issue reports. • Interest in crypto, wallets, messaging apps, or privacy-focused products. • Introduction call with the Talent team • Interview with one of the Status team • Interview with the Status Product Lead • The steps may change along the way if we see it makes sense to adapt the interview stages, so please consider the above as a guideline.
Responsibilities
• Exploratory testing of existing app features and reporting functional, UI, and UX issues based on guidance from the Product Lead. • Testing newly developed features and product improvements before release. • Testing features and retesting fixes in release builds when preparing new app releases. • Reproducing bugs and gathering useful details to help developers understand the issue, including steps to reproduce, screenshots, screen recordings, device information, and expected vs. actual behavior. • Working with QA automation engineers to ensure manually identified bugs are reviewed for automation where relevant. • Occasionally checking the website, Apple App Store, and Google Play product pages to make sure there are no obvious issues. • Reviewing product requirements for new features from a user perspective and flagging anything that feels unclear, confusing, or difficult to use. • Documenting how features work in the app based on hands-on exploration and testing.
