wealthsimple - Senior Analyst, Tax
Requirements
• 3-5+ years of Canadian income tax and/or sales tax compliance experience, ideally within a financial institution, fintech, or public accounting environment • Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate income tax return preparation (T2) • Solid understanding of tax accounting concepts (provisions) under IFRS • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets and multiple reconciliations in an efficient and scalable manner • Experience in using technology and AI tools to improve accuracy, documentation, and efficiency in recurring compliance work • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines across income tax and sales tax cycles • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical tax matters for non-tax audiences • CPA designation (or in progress) or working toward a similar professional qualification • Experience in a high-growth or scaling fintech or financial services environment • Experience in sales tax, SR&ED, transfer pricing, or cross-border tax matters • Experience working with tax technology tools or process automation • Detail-oriented and reliable — you own the monthly cycle end-to-end and don't let things slip • Comfortable with repetitive, recurring compliance work, but always looking for ways to make it faster, cleaner, or more accurate • A strong teammate — proactive, communicative, and easy to coordinate with on shared deadlines • Curious about how AI and automation can change the way compliance work gets done, and eager to help build that into the team's day-to-day • Someone who takes ownership of their deliverables and follows through on open items without needing to be chased
