Experience managing a team of software engineers, including running performance reviews and growth conversations
Prior experience as a tech lead or EM accountable for delivery and execution against a roadmap
Strong technical foundation as a software engineer, with the ability to review PRs, coach technical decisions, and engage meaningfully in architectural discussions
Comfort partnering cross-functionally (especially with Product and customer-facing teams) to deliver outcomes in ambiguous environments
Bonus: experience at a 50–100 person Series B+ startup
Note: This role is primarily people leadership. You’ll stay close to the code and technical decisions, but you won’t be expected to carry a dedicated individual contributor workload.
Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible for equity as well, and all employees are eligible for a full benefits package including employee and dependent healthcare and 401(k) enrollment. Our team of over 50 employees is currently remote-first, with an office in NYC and optional in-person work for those located in the area. We have company offsites twice a year to bring the full team together in person, and occasional travel is expected as part of the job.

Responsibilities
Lead a team of software engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions for clients in the Archive industry.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, QA, operations, customer success, sales, marketing, finance/accounts payable, procurement, HR, facilities to ensure alignment of business goals across all departments and successful delivery on time for clients' needs.
Participate in the strategic planning process by providing input into product roadmaps based upon client feedback from previous projects as well as internal discussions with engineering leadership team members about technical feasibility and resource availability, while also ensuring that business goals are aligned across all departments to ensure successful delivery on time for clients' needs.
Oversee the development of software solutions by providing guidance in project planning phases such as requirements gathering, design review meetings with stakeholders including product management team members and senior engineers from other teams within Archive Engineering department; ensuring that all necessary information is gathered to create a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
Monitor the progress of software development projects by regularly checking in on project status reports provided by lead developers, reviewing code quality through peer reviews with fellow engineering team members and senior engineers from other teams within Archive Engineering department; ensuring that all necessary information is gathered to create a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
Provide technical guidance for junior software engineers as they work on projects in the development environment by providing feedback during standup meetings, reviewing code quality through peer reviews with fellow engineering team members and senior engineers from other teams within Archive Engineering department; ensuring that all necessary information is gathered to create a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
Participate in daily scrums as part of the development process by providing guidance on project progress, reviewing code quality through peer reviews with fellow engineering team members and senior engineers from other teams within Archive Engineering department; ensuring that all necessary information is gathered to create a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
Participate in retrospectives at the end of each sprint by providing feedback on project progress, reviewing code quality through peer reviews with fellow engineering team members and senior engineers from other teams within Archive Engineering department; ensuring that all necessary information is gathered to create a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
