Hometap - Underwriter

• As an Underwriter, you'll play a critical role in Hometap's home equity investment process, making recommendations on both the homes and the homeowners we work with. You'll analyze a broad set of home and homeowner information to assess the risk profile of each application and make investment eligibility recommendations against the standards in our underwriting guidelines. This is a strong fit if you bring underwriting experience, a passion for real estate, and exceptional organizational skills. • Prior underwriting experience • Sharp attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, including strong proofreading and fact-checking skills • Strong judgment, with comfort making recommendations against a rules rubric and escalating issues and questions as needed • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Comfort handling multiple responsibilities and staying proactive under deadlines • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a client-oriented approach • An interest in real estate and fintech, and excitement about joining a growing tech company • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in business, finance, or a related field • The base salary for this role is $75,000 with additional earning potential through a performance-based monthly incentive.
