Valtech - Senior Flutter Engineer
Requirements
• To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: • 8+ years of total software development experience • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience with Flutter and Dart in production, including apps with real users at scale • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and modern development practices • Experience writing unit widget and integration tests (experience with golden tests and Widgetbook is a plus) • Hands-on experience choosing and owning state management solutions (e.g., Riverpod, BLoC, Provider) and ability to justify the choice • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data flows • Understanding of responsive UI principles and mobile design guidelines • Solid knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows, including code signing and app store release • Experience with local storage (e.g., Hive, SQLite) and performance optimization • Has owned the architecture of at least one non-trivial app using architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.) and can explain what they would do differently • Experience collaborating with non-engineers (designers, product, clients) • Deep knowledge of Flutter internals (rendering pipeline, rebuild behavior, isolates, memory management) • Hands-on native mobile experience (Swift/Kotlin), including platform-specific behavior, permissions and store requirements • Advanced, daily use of AI coding agents: you choose models and harnesses deliberately for different tasks (e.g., planning vs. implementation vs. review), manage context effectively, and can explain where agents fail and how you catch it • If you do not meet all the listed qualifications or have gaps in your experience, we still encourage you to apply. Responsibilities
• Develop cross-platform applications using Flutter for Android/iOS • Translate product requirements and UI designs into fully functional features • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices • Participate in code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and support team learning • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to create seamless user experiences • Integrate apps with backend APIs and services • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues • Stay current with Flutter/Dart ecosystem updates and suggest improvements
