Requirements
• We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-impact project focused on building a modern data platform using Microsoft Fabric. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help design, build, and evolve scalable data solutions, working across both real-time and batch processing, and contributing to a long-term data strategy. • 📅Start date: ASAP🖋️Contract type: Contractor🕘Work hours: 8 am to 5 pm PST💻Work mode: 100% remote • Must-haves • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering • Strong experience with Azure Data stack (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, etc.) • Solid skills in SQL and Python (PySpark is a big plus) • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and working with large datasets • Understanding of modern data architectures (Lakehouse, medallion, etc.) • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or strong interest in learning it quickly • Nice-to-haves • Experience with streaming / real-time data processing • Exposure to tools like Databricks or Spark • Experience with Power BI and data visualization • Familiarity with data governance concepts • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, especially Real-Time Intelligence or Lakehouse workloads • Hands-on experience with PySpark / Spark in production environments • Familiarity with KQL (Kusto Query Language) or other streaming/query languages • Experience working with real-time or streaming data pipelines • Exposure to modern data modeling practices (dimensional modeling, medallion architecture) • Experience with Power BI semantic models • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview • Curiosity for emerging tools like Fabric Copilot / Fabric IQ • What to Expect from Our Hiring Process • Intro Chat – 60 min with our Talent team • Cultural Fit Interview – 30 min with our Team Engagement Manaher • Final Interview – 60 min Technical Interview with Hiring Manager
Responsibilities
• Design and build scalable data pipelines using Azure and Microsoft Fabric • Support the migration of legacy data solutions into a modern Lakehouse architecture • Work with both batch and real-time data to power analytics and business insights • Design clean, reliable data models for reporting and downstream consumption • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data solutions • Contribute to data quality, governance, and overall platform reliability
