3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or data roles, with a focus on automating manual processes
Hands-on experience with data transformation tools like Alteryx or similar automation platforms
Familiarity with payroll systems and how payroll intersects with accounting, tax, and compliance
Strong understanding of core financial and payroll concepts (e.g. gross vs. net, statutory deductions, benefits)
Experience working in fast-paced, innovative environments
Proficiency in SQL, Looker, or other BI tools
Experience with process mapping and workflow optimization
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
Educational background in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Data (or equivalent practical experience)
Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with structured data is a plus
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and follow through on deadlines

Responsibilities
Align payroll calculations with accounting, tax, and compliance requirements
Process and validate structured input data (salary, bonuses, leave) to ensure accurate payroll runs
Continually inspect and analyse payroll data, flagging and escalating any inconsistencies.
Define and document operational requirements for technical implementation
Map product features to payroll workflows, ensuring seamless integration
Translate manual payroll logic into structured rules that can be automated
Perform user testing of new features to ensure operational edge cases are covered
Support the documentation and improvement of payroll workflows and edge cases
Identify repetitive tasks that could be standardised or automated
Contribute to the creation of scalable logic and templates for multi-country payroll
Use Alteryx to automate payroll workflows, reduce manual work, and improve data accuracy
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders (Finance, Product, Engineering, Ops)
Help track open items, missing data, or blockers across cross-functional teams
Take ownership of smaller deliverables and follow up with the right people to resolve issues
Be proactive, organised, and eager to contribute to a high-performing, globally distributed team
