Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. Responsibilities

• As a Principal Software Development Engineer, you will drive technical excellence, overseeing the architecture and execution of all technical projects within the Maps organization. You will advise the organization leader, providing strategic direction, vision, and the roadmap for the Maps engineering teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader goals and objectives. • You will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of mapping data by implementing engineering-driven processes for validation and improvement, leveraging innovative data collection methods and best practices. Collaborating with data acquisition and engineering teams, you will enhance data reliability and precision to meet industry standards. You will maintain a deep understanding of competitor offerings, market dynamics, and industry trends, applying engineering expertise to inform data-related decisions and drive continuous improvement in data quality. Staying current with advancements in engineering, data management, and geospatial technologies, you will use market insights to optimize data quality and foster innovation. • You will play a critical role in influencing the AI strategy for the entire company. You will provide technical guidance on how to use AI to improve development efficiency of all Maps teams. You will drive the development of secure, frictionless product experiences while designing and building large-scale systems from the ground up. This highly collaborative, fast-paced environment offers the opportunity to influence how teams leverage data to innovate and support business growth. We are seeking a seasoned leader with deep expertise in distributed systems, a passion for customer experience and experimentation, and the ability to mentor and inspire across the organization. • As AI becomes embedded in modern engineering workflows, we value engineers who can thoughtfully integrate AI into design, development, and decision-making.
