taxfix.com - Senior Product Designer (d/f/m)
Requirements
• 5+ years in a product design role, ideally in a product organisation. You have genuine design craft and a track record to prove it — you've shipped interfaces real users navigated without explanation, and you can point to the metric that moved when you did. • Strong visual sensibility, high standards for craft, and an eye for detail. You have taste: you know when something looks right but feels wrong, and you know how to fix it. • You've built personal AI workflows that make you meaningfully faster. You know when to trust AI output, when to edit it, and when to reject it. • You solve problems from first principles. You don't start with the component library. You start with the user and work forward. • Across all three disciplines, you can hold your own. In Design, you ship interfaces people trust. In Product, you've gone from user problem to testable prototype without waiting for a brief. In Engineering, you've used AI coding tools to build something real — you're not dependent on an engineer to implement your vision. • You've operated on measurable outcomes, not intuition alone. You know what metric you were trying to move, and you can say whether you moved it. • You believe the best way to learn is to get something in the hands of your users, ideally live. You know your way around AB tests and are excited to try new data science models to get feedback faster. • You've operated in ambiguity and shipped anyway. You didn't wait for full clarity: you acted, collected signal, and iterated. When something was genuinely impossible, you documented why and moved on. • Experience in user research and usability testing. Strong communication and storytelling skills, and the ability to balance user needs with business requirements. • You can deliver against tight seasonal deadlines • Native-level English strongly preferred • Please don't forget to include your portfolio. • THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF… • You want a PM to define the problem and an engineer to implement the solution. • You resist working in code or with AI. • You think engaging with your users is a job for research, or that writing copy can only be done by a content designer. • You hand off polished Figma files and believe your job is done. You judge yourself only on taste and not outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Take a user problem from rough idea to shipped interface. Write the brief, design the flow, prototype it, and ship it, with as few handoffs as possible. Own the full loop. • Plan and own design activities within your mission team, aligning with timelines and quarterly OKRs. Translate business goals, technical constraints, and data into design solutions that can be implemented and measured. • Support the rest of the UK team’s design thinking - pressure-test ideas, give direction, and sometimes deliver the designs outright so the team keeps moving. • AI tools, Figma, or code, whatever gets there fastest. You use AI - including Claude Code - to explore, prototype, and accelerate, but your taste is the editorial layer. You know when AI-generated UI is wrong even when it looks right, and you fix it. You leverage agents and skills provided by Research, Content design, and others to deliver high-quality outputs. You use AI as a force multiplier. • You deploy rapid, experience-driven experiments directly into production to evaluate customer demand and determine whether additional engineering resources are justified. You move fast, you test in the real product, and you don't wait to be unblocked. • When the user problem calls for something new you extend our design system to cover the use case. You reason about what the right interaction is, then build it - contributing back to our design system if the pattern is effective and has broader use. • You're the person who notices the detail others miss and pushes the work to where it needs to be. Not perfectionism for its own sake: the craft that makes a tax product feel trustworthy, where getting it wrong has real consequences for real people. Sweat the final 10%. • You know the metric your team is trying to move. You measure your week by what changed for users, not by screens delivered. Be accountable to outcomes. • You give feedback directly, to anyone, regardless of level. You raise blockers early and in the open. Push back when something's wrong. • The designer who reads the API spec. Who writes the brief. Who builds in code when it's faster than Figma. That instinct is what we're hiring for. Stretch beyond design.
