We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table! • 15+ years in architecture or principal engineering roles within innovative, fast-paced environments. • Applied fraud detection and governance framework experience. • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and LLMs with experience deploying models or AI-driven projects. • Demonstrated success designing large-scale, high-performance architectures across AWS & Azure • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with proven ability to drive technical direction. • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, Go). • Experience with both front-end (React, Angular) and back-end (Node.js, Spring, SpringBoot) development. • Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and their tradeoffs. • Desired: • Experience contributing to open source or tech innovation communities. • Track record of rapid prototyping and iterative product development. • Exposure to distributed systems and high-reliability platforms. • Knowledge of risk management best practices in experimental projects. • Experience working with global teams and remote-first environments. • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for emerging technologies. • Advanced problem-solving skills with ability to anticipate technology trends. • Background in engineering and technical architecture roles. • Location • This role will be remote and based in the USA.
Responsibilities
• Architect and prototype scalable, high-performance solutions using modern technologies. • Experiment and iterate on new product ideas, leveraging AI, machine learning, and emerging tech. • Lead technical direction, guiding and mentoring engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle. • Partner cross-functionally to align prototypes with business opportunities and strategic goals. • Mentor a group of software development engineers across US and India • Communicate technical vision and results clearly to stakeholders and executive leadership.

The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only. • The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: • Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $207,200.00 - $259,000.00 • Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $219,360.00 - $274,200.00 • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $248,400.00 - 304,600.00 • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan.
