CSCI Consulting - COBOL Developer
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in COBOL development within a mainframe environment • Strong understanding of mainframe systems and COBOL programming • Experience with one or more of the following a plus: ADS-Online, ADS-Batch, CICS, Job Control Language, MQ Series, Structured Query Language (SQL) • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Professional presence • Experience with VSAM or DB2 • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value • Past experience working with a Federal agency • Department of War experience is a plus! • CSCI is an award-winning information technology and financial management consulting firm founded on one simple philosophy: “Do what is right, always.” We apply this philosophy across all elements of our growing business, from delivering world-class services for customers to providing an environment where associates thrive both personally and professionally. Responsibilities
• Design, code, test, and debug COBOL programs • Maintain and enhance existing COBOL applications • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solution • Perform system analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues • Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices • Document technical specifications and processes
