IV AI, Inc - VP, Engineering
Requirements
• 5+ years of professional software development experience • 2+ years of engineering management experience • Strong experience with one of the following: Python or TypeScript • Strong communication skills - written and verbal • A collaborative spirit and desire to work cross-functionally • Someone how is passionate about software engineering and mentoring/managing engineers • Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud providers • Comfort working in a startup or fast-moving environment • Contributions to open source or side projects
Responsibilities
• Lead and scale the engineering team through strategic hiring, mentoring, and performance management • Write and ship production code regularly - this is a hands-on technical leadership role (all engineering roles in our org are expected to ship code) • Work directly with Product Managers to define and execute the technical roadmap • Refine engineering processes, workflows, and best practices • Drive architectural decisions and ensure technical excellence across all systems • Partner with executive leadership to set technical vision and prioritize engineering initiatives • Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning • Foster a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement • Own system reliability, performance, and security across the entire technology stack • Report on engineering metrics, team health, and project progress to the CTO and executive team
