New Era Technology - Systems Engineer (Level 1)
Responsibilities
• Provide remote and onsite support for desktop, server, cloud, and network environments • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, including escalations and vendor coordination • Configure, deploy, and test PCs, servers, and network equipment; support virtual and cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, O365, Google Workspace, MDM) • Ensure system security, performance, and reliability through updates and best practices • Lead and deliver technical projects, including desktop deployments, server upgrades, cloud migrations, and network implementations (switches, firewalls, VLANs) • Liaise with clients and vendors to resolve issues and support project delivery • Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing updates, reports, and technical guidance • Support IT planning, incident management, and deliver proactive, customer-focused service • Maintain accurate documentation and timesheets, and continuously improve processes and automate tasks • Desirable: • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience • Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals) preferred • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), security, virtualization, and cloud environments • Experience in server and desktop deployment projects (planning and implementation) • Excellent communication, time management, and documentation skills • Ability to work under pressure and handle client challenges professionally
