Airship - IT Systems Engineer
Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering role, or 3-4 years in IT Support with progression into more advanced infrastructure and/or device management responsibilities • Experience managing Mac, Windows, and Linux environments • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams • Familiarity with enterprise security practices and endpoint protection • Scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and background of building API integrations for automation projects • Understanding of disaster recovery principles and business continuity planning • At least intermediate proficiency administering Jamf, Workspace ONE, Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, and Atlassian (or equivalent tools). • Experience experimenting with AI tools in your personal or professional life - or an eagerness to learn! • We'd Be Delighted If You Also Have • Experience using AI-powered tools to accelerate scripting, troubleshooting, or automation workflows • Vendor management experience, including working with third-party providers to ensure solutions meet internal standards • Airship’s ‘Digital First’ approach to work means that for the majority of our roles, work can be performed remotely, either some or most of the time. Responsibilities
• Work cross-functionally with IT Support, Security, and Engineering to integrate and optimize internal systems • Mentor and guide the IT team on complex infrastructure and systems issues • Design and configure scalable, secure infrastructure across on-premises and cloud-based environments • Administer and maintain enterprise systems, servers, and user environments, applying regular updates, patches, and maintenance to ensure reliability and uptime • Monitor system health and performance, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise • Manage identity and access control systems, including SSO and MFA configurations, and ensure systems and endpoints comply with security policies • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate workflows, monitoring, and routine operations, connecting enterprise SaaS applications with each other and internal tools via APIs • Support infrastructure automation to improve repeatability, efficiency, and scale, including CI/CD practices for internal tools where applicable • Implement and test backup and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems, ensuring recovery plans are documented and regularly validated • Document system configurations, SOPs, upgrade paths, and troubleshooting procedures, and identify opportunities for process optimization • Take part in the team’s on-call schedule, providing incident response support for our IT and Security departments as required • Duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands. • Starting Pay Range: $75,000-$90,000 USD per year • This is a good faith estimate of the base compensation we reasonably expect to pay for this position upon hire. Actual starting pay may vary based on factors such as relevant skills, work experience, market demands, and location.
