Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field, or equivalent work experience. • 7+ years of experience managing and maintaining geospatial or database systems. • Experience designing, implementing, and managing geodatabases. • Experience with database management systems (DBMS) and data architecture. • Experience monitoring database performance and implementing optimization strategies. • Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data workflows. • Strong understanding of database security, access controls, and data protection. • Experience with scripting or automation for database maintenance (e.g., Python, SQL). • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams and stakeholders. • Experience supporting DHS or other federal government programs. • Familiarity with Esri geospatial platforms and enterprise GIS environments. • Experience working with cloud-based data storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3). • Experience with data federation, REST services, and system integration. • Familiarity with metadata standards and geospatial data lifecycle management. • Due to the nature of the work we support, all candidates in consideration for this role must be willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate, and maintain geospatial databases and data storage solutions. • Monitor database performance, capacity, and availability to ensure optimal system functionality. • Configure and manage geodatabases, including schema design, data models, and metadata structures. • Support data integration, ingestion, and transformation across geospatial systems. • Implement database security, access controls, and data protection measures. • Collaborate with system, software, and security teams to configure hardware and software environments. • Develop and maintain scripts and automation for database maintenance, monitoring, and optimization. • Support backup, recovery, redundancy, and disaster recovery processes. • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies. • Maintain documentation for database architecture, configurations, and processes. • Ensure compliance with DHS standards, data policies, and system requirements.
