Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field, or equivalent work experience. • 3+ years of experience in application development. • Experience developing applications including user interfaces, workflows, and APIs. • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar. • Experience working with APIs and integrating REST-based services. • Experience supporting geospatial or data-driven applications and systems. • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including testing and deployment. • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills. • Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams and stakeholders. • Experience supporting federal government or DHS programs. • Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS or other geospatial platforms. • Experience working in cloud environments and integrating applications with cloud-based data platforms. • Experience with scripting and automation for data processing workflows. • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. • Due to the nature of the work we support, all candidates in consideration for this role must be willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process. Responsibilities
• Develop applications to include user interfaces, workflows, and APIs supporting DHS geospatial systems. • Design, build, and maintain applications that integrate with geospatial data platforms, databases, and enterprise systems. • Support development and maintenance of geospatial applications across cloud and on-premise environments. • Develop and maintain scripts and automated workflows to support data processing, validation, and integration. • Support integration of geospatial data services, including REST-based services and APIs. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate mission and business requirements into technical solutions. • Perform testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application performance, reliability, and scalability. • Participate in system design, development, and implementation activities across the software development lifecycle. • Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of geospatial applications and tools. • Ensure compliance with DHS standards, security requirements, and system architecture guidelines. • Contribute to documentation including system design, development processes, and application functionality.
