Requirements
• Strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality. • Experience managing and upleveling senior individual contributors. • Proven track record of guiding product and long-term technical strategy. • Previous experience working on backend systems that coordinate complex workflows or decision logic at scale with a strong emphasis on performance and quality, especially in SaaS environments. • Experience leading or working on fullstack engineering projects within the Vanta platform context. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including product, design, and customer-facing teams.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the software engineering team to ensure that projects are completed on time and meet quality standards. • Develop strategies for recruiting, retaining, and developing talent within the Engineering department. • Collaborate with other managers across departments to align goals and priorities of various teams towards company objectives. • Monitor project progress regularly through reports from team members or dashboards; intervene when necessary to address issues that may impact timelines or quality. • Facilitate communication between the engineering team, stakeholders, clients, and other departments as needed for successful delivery of projects. • Provide guidance on technical best practices within software development processes while ensuring adherence to company policies and standards. • Participate in performance evaluations by providing feedback to individual engineers or teams based on their contributions towards project goals.
