Backflip - Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production software. • Strong full-stack ability with a backend lean, hands-on with TypeScript/React and Python. • Demonstrated experience owning services, APIs, or integrations end-to-end. • A working discipline around testing, monitoring, and reliability. • Experience at an early-stage startup (seed/Series A–B) is a strong plus. • Hands-on experience building with LLMs or AI tooling is a strong plus. • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift and processes evolve. • 1+ year of experience working in a remote or distributed environment is preferred. • Self-directed, accountable, and proactive — thrives where the playbook is still being written. • What Success Looks Like • You ship your first production change in week one and are independently delivering features end-to-end within 90 days. • You take full, accountable ownership of at least one integration or backend service. • Your areas are measurably among the most reliable we run — well-tested, well-monitored, and low-noise. • You adopt AI into your workflow and are eager to find tech-forward ways to gain efficiency and reduce manual work. • This candidate will champion Backflip's Culture & Core Values: • Raise the Bar: We pursue operational excellence with focus, follow-through, and a persistent drive to get 1% better every day.
