rula - Sr. Software Engineer - RCM (Remote)

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of building and scaling web applications in a production environment. • Proven experience leading high-priority technical projects from conception to delivery, including the ability to navigate trade-offs and align stakeholders. • A passion for fostering a high-performing engineering culture through code reviews, technical documentation, and mentoring peers. • Distributed systems expertise: transaction processing, asynchronous queues, microservices, databases, etc. • Proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery velocity, automate boilerplate, and enhance code quality. • Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex, distributed systems that are scalable, maintainable, and secure. • Experience at startup / growth-stage companies • High personal awareness, and growth mindset (for Software Engineer) • Experience with React, NodeJs, Typescript, Kafka, AWS or equivalent • Experience with on-call, willingness to deep dive complex issues and drive them to resolution • Technical Stack • Rula's systems are written in Typescript/Node.js or Ruby on Rails, with React frontends. We use Postgres for our databases and everything is hosted on AWS. We also make heavy use of existing tools like Salesforce, Airtable, Typeform, etc. This has enabled us to scale very quickly with a small team but we’re now ready to bring much of this work in-house. We’re standing up the technical foundation that will power the future of the company.
