Requirements
• Onboard various parts of the stack to become an “API first” company • Work with product teams to architect and implement a service in our retail cloud • Design and implement in TypeScript (we can teach you) / JS, on AWS Serverless • Building quality, functional code that you and your team can be proud of • Publish APIs, SDKs, and CLIs for your systems that other developers can use • Write responsive and functional components in React for the front-end • Learn and keep up with current best practices for elegant code and projects • Can work on both frontend and backend components of an application (if you're stronger on the frontend or backend, we'd still like to hear from you) • Can be the technical owner of an internally facing consumer microservice product • Has around 7+ years of experience, in areas of our tech stack: TypeScript (3+), JavaScript, Node, React, AWS (Lambda, CloudFront, CodePipeline - this one is trainable) • Strong sense of ownership for the entire software lifecycle, not only to the next handoff • Believe in finding the best solution, not just one that works • Depending on the position, our application and interview process may vary, but here are some of the ways we get to know you better: • 📞 Step 1: Match most of the requirements and qualifications for the position? Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain frontend components using React Native for mobile applications. • Implement backend services with Node.js to handle API requests efficiently. • Ensure the application's performance meets industry standards by optimizing code and database queries. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, QA engineers, and other developers, for seamless project delivery. • Conduct thorough testing of both frontend and backend components to ensure robustness and reliability under various conditions. • Monitor application performance using tools like New Relic or Datadog to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization. • Stay updated with the latest web development trends, frameworks (e.g., Angular), and best practices for continuous improvement of project quality. • Manage user authentication flows securely by implementing OAuth2/OpenID Connect protocols where necessary to protect sensitive data. • Regularly review code commits from team members using GitLab or GitHub tools like pull requests, ensuring adherence to coding standards and preventing potential security vulnerabilities. • Provide technical leadership within the engineering team by mentoring junior developers on best practices in software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes such as Agile methodologies. • Participate actively in code reviews with peers, offering constructive feedback aimed at enhancing overall code quality and maintainability of shared projects. • Document the system architecture comprehensively to facilitate onboarding new team members or when handing over responsibilities within a project lifecycle. • Communicate effectively with stakeholds including product managers, designers, QA engineers, and clients through regular meetings, progress reports, and technical briefings as required by the company's communication protocols.
