Compiled Health - Head of Engineering

• A record of building and operating a consequential production system end to end. • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience hiring and leading engineers while remaining an active technical contributor. • Breadth across backend, data, infrastructure, and product engineering, with unusual depth in at least one. • Strong judgment around state, versioning, provenance, observability, security, and failure recovery. • Product judgment: you can make complex behavior legible without concealing the details on which a clinical decision depends. • Clear, precise communication across engineering, research, clinical, and external teams. • Experience with FHIR, HL7, EHRs, or other complex interoperability environments. • Experience in healthcare, regulated software, or another safety-critical domain. • Experience with compilers, rules engines, developer platforms, or rigorously evaluated ML systems. • Logistics • Logistics • Location: This role is remote, with offsites multiple times per year. • Work authorization: You must be eligible to work in the United States or Canada.
