Nabla - Backend engineer
Responsibilities
• As a Back-End Engineer, you will play a critical role in scaling Nabla’s AI-driven healthcare platform. You will take ownership of key components of our back-end systems, collaborate closely with product and machine learning teams, and help shape the technical direction of our infrastructure. • Design, build, and evolve our server-side applications and APIs • Lead complex integrations with external partners, especially Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems • Continuously improve and optimize our back-end architecture and developer experience • Contribute to architectural discussions and influence long-term technical decisions • Collaborate closely across the team to deliver impactful end-to-end features • To give you a sense of the impact: • Nabla processes 10 billion tokens/month with LLMs • Every week, hundreds of thousands of clinical notes are automatically generated and synced with EHRs, saving thousands of hours for clinicians • Our APIs serve real-time workloads in high-stakes clinical environments • Your DNA • Your DNA • You have strong foundations in computer science or a related discipline • You demonstrate strong experience in back-end engineering, ideally within fast-paced, production-critical environments. • You’re proficient in one or more widely used back-end languages (Java, Kotlin, C++, Python, etc.) • You have experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable APIs and distributed systems (GraphQL and OpenAPI experience is a plus) • You are comfortable driving architectural decisions and technical strategy • You write clean, maintainable code and have high standards for software quality • You communicate clearly in English • Bonus: experience with cloud infrastructure, security/compliance, or healthcare data standards (FHIR) • Our stack • Our stack • Frontend: TypeScript, React, Tailwind CSS, Swift, Rust, Electron. • Frontend: • Backend: Kotlin / JVM, GraphQL, PostgreSQL. • Backend: • ML & Infra: Python, PyTorch, Slurm, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes. • ML & Infra: • Where you'll be based • Our offices are based in Paris 3e (Arts & Métiers). • Remote policy: 2 days remote a week
