Requirements
• NON-NEGOTIABLES • 6+ years of motion design experience, in-house or agency, with a reel we cannot look away from • World-class craft in at least two of After Effects, Cinema 4D / Blender, Figma, Rive, Lottie, Runway, v0 • Range: you have shipped product-native motion, brand film, stage, and social, and you know why each one is different • Proven taste-level: you have work in portfolios, galleries, or awards lists that the community respects • Fluent in story: you can turn a hand-wavy brief into a 30-second piece that makes people feel something specific • Fluent in systems: you understand why an in-house role needs a component library, not just a hero video • English fluency and ability to work with a distributed team across Antwerp, London, and New York • High agency, low ego • Craft-obsessed without being precious • Wants to go in-house, on purpose, because the brand deserves a single author • Collaborative with product, design, brand, and sales without losing your point of view • Opinionated about taste, generous with credit • Treats AI tools as collaborators, not threats • Identity and brand system experience (not just motion for identities designed by others) • 3D, generative, or real-time motion skills • Experience at a design-led AI, SaaS, or consumer technology company • Side practice, community work, teaching, or published work • WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE • Conveo has a motion language, a system, and a library, not a pile of one-off files • The top 6-8 pieces of Conveo content each year are yours, and they are the reference pieces of the category • Product motion ships in-product, not just in marketing • Prospects and customers cite our visual work as a reason they took our meeting • The brand looks unmistakably like Conveo across product, web, social, stage, and sales • You attract the next designer we hire because they want to work with you

We humbly go the extra mile every time. • We work hard and we have fun. • To keep our quality bar incredibly high, we want to execute with the smallest possible team. • Product: how our product feels the second it opens, how features are revealed, how AI moments come to life • Brand: the identity system, the how-we-show-up layer across every surface • Launch moments: new features, new studies, new customer stories, always with a piece of motion at the center • Stage and sales: event opens, keynote backdrops, pitch-deck motion, high-ACV meeting assets • Social and paid: the frames people see first, scroll past last, and remember • This role is only for someone who believes motion is strategy, not decoration. • DEFINE THE CONVEO MOTION LANGUAGE • You are the author of how Conveo looks and feels in motion: • Establish the motion system: timing, easing, type behavior, transitions, visual vocabulary • Build a component library that makes the whole team faster without dropping quality • Decide what "on-brand" means for every surface, and guard it • Evolve the language every quarter so we never stop looking current • Your bar: anyone in our category, looking at a 3-second clip, recognizes it as Conveo. • SHIP HERO WORK FOR EVERY MAJOR MOMENT • You make the pieces that define the year: • The film, the launch moment, the stage opener, the homepage hero • Product reveals that feel like Apple keynote moments • Customer hero stories that make Fortune 500 brands want to be featured • The social frames that make people stop scrolling • Your bar: at the end of the year, we can point to 6-8 pieces of work that defined how the category understands Conveo. • MAKE THE PRODUCT LOOK ALIVE • You sit next to product and design, not across from them. AI moments, insight reveals, data coming to life on screen: you design those frames before engineering builds them: • Micro-interactions and transitions inside the product • Animated data viz, insight reveals, live study moments • Onboarding, empty states, and "wow" frames that turn first-use into a memory • Coordination with our product designers so what you make actually ships • Your bar: customers quote the product experience back to us. • BUILD THE TEAM, NOT JUST THE WORK • As our first in-house motion hire, you build the motion function itself: • Tooling, file hygiene, render pipelines, asset libraries • Briefing templates so motion requests arrive in a workable shape • A roster of external collaborators for overflow • Eventually, your first hire • Your bar: when a new hire joins the marketing team, the motion system is the reason they understand Conveo faster.
