Requirements
• Proficiency in Typescript • Proven experience building and shipping consumer-grade mobile applications. • Familiarity with common mobile tools and libraries (e.g., Expo, Firebase, push notifications, app store deployment). • Experience with Tailwind, TanStack Query, React Native Reanimated and Jotai (or Zustand/Redux) • Experience with leading and managing test teams • Bonus: iOS development (Swift) • Bonus: Android development (Kotlin) • Remote in Europe (preference: Western/continental Europe) • Portugal relocation sponsorship possible
Responsibilities
• Own the React Native app end-to-end — architecture, performance, release process, and roadmap — without needing the problem framed in advance • Lead and mentor the two existing engineers already supporting mobile, setting technical direction and raising the bar for mobile craft • Partner directly with Affan on engineering strategy and with Oisin on product direction where mobile intersects with growth, onboarding, and retention • Drive native-feel polish: smooth animations, responsive interactions, platform-specific conventions (iOS/Android) • Work in a PLG/A/B testing environment — ship features, instrument, measure impact, iterate fast • Own app store presence and release cadence — versioning, store optimization, crash/performance monitoring • Potentially help grow a dedicated mobile team as the app becomes a bigger part of the business
