Requirements
• Emerging or early-career experience in public affairs, campaigns, policy, communications, renewable energy, or a related area (through work, study, volunteering, organizing, or an equivalent path). • Strong written and verbal communication • Well-organized and able to manage time across multiple tasks • Curiosity and a demonstrated interest in the work Bantam does • Coachable and responsive to feedback • Comfort using AI tools and openness to adapting as the technology evolves • Self-directed and able to work effectively in a fully remote environment • Genuine alignment with Bantam's mission to accelerate advanced energy deployment • Exposure to political, electoral, issue-driven, or advocacy campaigns • Familiarity with renewable energy, infrastructure, or permitting/land-use topics • Coursework, prior internship, volunteer, organizing, or campaign experience in a relevant area • Comfort with common productivity or project management tools • Applicants must have completed at least three years of undergraduate study by the start of the internship or bring equivalent professional experience. Rising seniors, recent graduates, graduate students, and early-career or returning professionals all welcome. • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We do not sponsor work visas at this time.
Responsibilities
• Supports assigned tasks and workstreams under the direction of the teams they work with, helping move day-to-day work forward and learning how Bantam's campaigns and engagements come together. • Works across Bantam's departments in a flexible, supporting capacity, assisting different teams as needs arise and gaining exposure to the firm's campaign, advocacy, research, and communications work. • Conducts research and gathers information, including stakeholder, policy-landscape, opposition, public-opinion, and media inputs, and helps organize and summarize findings for the team. • Drafts and edits communications materials, such as memos, talking points, and social/digital content, with review and feedback from the team. • Supports client and partner communications under supervision, for example, preparing materials, taking meeting notes, and tracking follow-up items. • Helps coordinate tasks and timelines across teams, keeping workstreams organized and on track. • Helps document and improve team processes and workflows, and contributes ideas for how the work could be done better. • Uses AI tools such as Claude to help draft, revise, and polish materials and support day-to-day tasks, learning to apply them effectively and reviewing outputs with guidance from the team. • Participates in team meetings and learning opportunities to build skills across Bantam's public affairs work.
Benefits
• This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. • The hourly pay range for this position is $20 to $30 per hour. • Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as (but not limited to) location, level, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. • Please submit a cover letter in addition to your resume.
