Requirements
• Passion for Design: A deep passion for Product Design and UX Design craft; committed to creating meaningful, impactful user experiences. • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years as a Product Designer in a fast-paced environment, with at least 2 years leading holistic design as a Staff Product Designer (or equivalent title). • Multi-Disciplinary Expertise: Strong skills in UI, UX, and visual design, with a proven track record of crafting functional yet delightful customer experiences. Comfortable working through complex flows, creating engaging interfaces, and storytelling through visuals and prototypes. • AI: Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies; experience designing AI-assisted or AI-powered product experiences or using AI tools as part of your design workflow. A portfolio that includes examples of work related to AI-powered features, AI-assisted workflows, or experiments with AI tools. • Data-Informed Design: Your design work is deeply rooted in ideation, experimentation and evidence, ensuring that recommendations are always backed by data. • Comfortable with Ambiguity: Able to work at speed while maintaining high-quality and thoughtful solutions; driving clarity from complexity and ambiguity. • Balances User and Business Needs: Equally focused on user experience and business objectives, ensuring that design solutions meet both criteria effectively. • Strong Communicator and Facilitator: An outstanding communicator who can bring people together, build strong relationships, and gain alignment across teams. Inspires through design and narrative. • Mentorship Experience: Experienced in mentoring Product Designers, providing guidance that enables them to learn, grow, and progress in their careers. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners, developing best practices for engagement and collaboration across the organisation. • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Payroll and Fintech, with the ability to apply this expertise to deliver impactful design solutions. • Embedded Team Experience: Experienced in being deeply embedded within a development team, working with a light touch from the Product Manager to deliver high-quality outcomes. • Design & AI at Deel • AI is changing how products are designed and built. Responsibilities
• Lead Design Initiatives: Define and deliver product design across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals. Lead the development of end-to-end features and services that resonate with our users. • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business partners, to build coherent, high-quality experiences that are both functional and delightful. • Advocate for Design Systems: Champion the Deel UI/Design System strategy, driving adoption through an iterative approach that balances consistency with innovation. • Design and Prototype at Speed: Rapidly design, prototype, and test new features based on a deep understanding of business, customers and technology, to deliver thoughtful solutions even in the face of ambiguity. • Mentor and Guide: Provide mentorship to Product Designers, offering constructive feedback to foster growth and skill development. Lead design practice rituals and develop new standards that enhance team efficiency. • Identify and Solve Bottlenecks: Partner with product and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, make informed recommendations, and implement improvements that streamline process. • Drive Clarity from Complexity: Navigate ambiguity with ease, driving clarity and actionable insights from complex situations. Equally, balance user and business needs to create solutions that are impactful and strategic. • Outstanding Communication and Facilitation: Bring people together through inspiring design and narrative. Foster alignment across teams by effectively communicating a design vision and facilitating collaboration.
