Requirements

• At least three years of professional construction estimating experience. • Experience in estimating for general contractors (GCs), subcontractors, or specialty trades such as concrete, electrical, mechanical, roofing, etc. • Familiarity with common estimating tools like Excel, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar software. • Strong understanding of entry-level roles in construction estimating including Estimating Assistant, Junior Estimator, and Project Coordinator positions. • Interest in mentoring and helping career changers enter the field of construction estimating. • A strong communication and teaching ability to effectively convey knowledge during workshops and 1:1 coaching sessions. • Availability at least three evenings per week with a preference for Tuesday through Thursday, as these are typically class times on CourseCareers platform. • Self-starter mindset comfortable leading independent workshops without the need for guaranteed hours or full-time employment income.

Responsibilities

• Host a live, one-hour workshop on a monthly basis. • Answer student questions related to construction estimating and the job search. • Share real-world insight into what entry-level estimating roles actually look like. • Explain how estimating works in real construction environments (GCs, subs, specialty trades). • Discuss common tools, workflows, and expectations. • Provide optional 1:1 coaching to students who request it.
