Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in full stack software engineering • Strong experience with modern JavaScript stack (Node.js, React, TypeScript) • Hands-on experience with DevOps / platform engineering, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure management, and deployment processes • Experience working in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred) • Strong understanding of application security and secure coding practices • Experience with automated testing and test-first development approaches • Experience improving system observability (monitoring and logging) • Experience enhancing platform reliability, scalability, and performance • Proven experience in fast-paced, scale-up or startup environments • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex, real-world technical challenges • Ability to operate with high autonomy in a lean team environment • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams • Experience with healthcare platforms or regulated environments (NHS exposure) • Familiarity with: MySQL, AWS CDK, GitHub & GitHub Actions, Amplify, Cognito, ECS, Docker and Lambda • Experience designing resilient distributed systems across multi-AZ environments • Experience contributing to ISO27001 / GDPR compliance initiatives • Experience improving QA processes and release governance • Exposure to data platforms, health data, or connected device ecosystems
Responsibilities
• Deliver priority roadmap features across frontend and backend systems • Develop and maintain applications using Node.js, React, and TypeScript • Support and enhance NHS and third-party integrations • Contribute to scalable, reusable platform architecture • Maintain and optimise cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes • Improve monitoring, logging, and system observability • Strengthen deployment reliability and platform stability • Implement and support security improvements and secure coding practices • Ensure alignment with compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001) • Improve engineering quality and release discipline by: Reducing defect leakage, Strengthening testing practices and • Supporting test-first / automated testing approaches • Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into pragmatic technical solutions • Work across multiple concurrent workstreams and manage priorities effectively
