Requirements
• Strong financial acumen to manage complex lease negotiations and oversee construction costs while ensuring alignment with business growth. • Deep real estate expertise for defining global strategy including footprint planning and location selection that aligns with talent strategy and financial objectives. • Ability to translate Whatnot's brand, culture, and operational needs into physical space design principles and "kit of parts" ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficiency across all locations. • Experience in leading complex real estate transactions such as lease negotiations, renewals, expansions, exits, including U.S., Europe, and APAC markets. • Directing design, construction, and buildout for new offices ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, align with Whatnot's brand culture, and operational needs. • Experience in managing vendor ecosystems globally to drive cost efficiency and quality standards across architecture, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), property management, facilities services, workplace operations. • Overseeing global facility maintenance, compliance, and vendor management for operational excellence at scale in multiple locations including the U.S., Europe, Australia, Germany, Ireland, Poland, and Asia (implied requirement based on geographical expansion).
Responsibilities
• Define Whatnot's global real estate strategy including footprint planning and location selection that align with business growth. • Lead all real estate transactions such as lease negotiations, renewals, expansions, and exits across U.S., Europe, and APAC hubs. • Direct design, construction, and buildout for new offices ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, aligned with Whatnot's brand culture and operational needs. • Establish global workplace standards including space utilization frameworks to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across all locations. • Build and manage vendor ecosystems for architecture, construction, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), property management, facilities services, and workplace operations globally. • Oversee global real estate transactions reporting to the Chief People Officer partnering with senior leadership across Finance & Operations in shaping office footprint decisions managing complex lease negotiations overseeing construction and design building scalable workplace operations ensuring alignment with Whatnot's remote-first culture.
