Ōura - Senior Business Systems Engineer
Requirements
• 4+ years NetSuite development and/or administration experience. • Experience working in an Agile methodology and task management system. • Hands-on experience across NetSuite script types (User Event, Client, Map/Reduce, Suitelet, RESTlet, etc.). • Experience writing automated tests in any language or framework. • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in day-to-day development, with sound judgment about when to trust, verify, or reject AI output. • Understanding of core business processes and best practices (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, etc.) and basic accounting principles. • Extensive integration experience (iPaaS, API, or direct point-to-point) with a solid understanding of system authentication methods. • Comfort working within NetSuite's configuration/admin layer (roles, permissions, saved searches) well enough to partner effectively with a dedicated Administrator. • Attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and excellent communication and collaboration skills — including the judgment to push back on scope or timeline when a proposed fix won't hold up.
Responsibilities
• Define, document, and execute NetSuite development tasks in an agile team process managed in Atlassian Jira. • Deliver first-class SuiteScript code and designs that adhere to software development industry best practices, with a bias toward root-cause fixes over narrow, symptom-level patches. • Design and implement unit, integration, and regression test coverage for critical customizations and integrations as a standard part of delivery, and help establish a team-wide Definition of Done that includes test coverage. • Use AI-assisted and agentic development tools to accelerate SuiteScript, integration, and test development, applying design-first practices (specs, architecture docs, and constraints) so AI-generated code is consistent, reviewable, and maintainable. • Help define team standards for when and how AI-assisted changes ship, including the change-management evidence required for SOX/ITGC controls. • Contribute reusable context (architecture decision records, coding standards, and integration documentation) that makes both engineers and AI tools more effective across the NetSuite codebase. • Partner with our NetSuite Administrator to audit and govern platform configuration — roles, permissions, workflows, and bundle usage — ensuring changes are documented, reversible, and don't accumulate as untracked technical debt. • Assist in the development, architecture, and support of scalable integrations between NetSuite and other business systems. • Collaborate with NetSuite business users across Supply Chain & Logistics, Financial Systems, and Member Experience to translate requirements into durable solutions. • This is a remote role based in the US.
