Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a clinical setting, focusing on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management. The physician will have their own panel and will collaborate with APP colleagues and Registered Dietitians. • Review charts and conduct return visits for APP patients every third visit to ensure quality and continuity of care. • return visits for APP patients every third visit • Provide treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases or escalated concerns. • treatment planning and medical management support • Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under both direct care and in coordination with APPs. • non-controlled obesity medications • Ensure clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently within the team. • Assist in the professional development of APPs by fostering clinical growth, offering feedback, and supporting continuing education. This role could include APP collaboration and supervision responsibilities. • professional development • Participate in team-based care initiatives and contribute to a culture of collaboration and high-quality care. • Attend relevant departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts within the obesity medicine program. • MD or DO degree with board certification; must be an American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) diplomate • Are licensed to practice and prescribe legally in AL, TN, OK, MO, IN, SC or GA. • AL, TN, OK, MO, IN, SC or GA. • Currently hold a LOQ (Letter of Qualification) with the IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact). • Are credentialed with insurance payers (strong preference for multiple state licenses!) • Have excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions • Are committed to the highest quality of medical care and an evidence-based approach to obesity management • Have prior experience conducting telemedicine visits and who have a great "web-side" manner • Have prior experience working collaboratively with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians • Bilingual candidates with medical fluency in Spanish are highly preferred
