Sezzle - Product QA Tester — Mid-Level
Requirements
• 2–5 years in a product QA or software testing role, with hands-on experience across mobile, web, and API testing • Demonstrated ability to write thorough test cases that others can follow and build on • Experience with bug tracking tools (Jira or equivalent) and writing defect reports that are clear and actionable • Mobile testing on both iOS and Android, including device/OS fragmentation awareness • Basic understanding of developer tools, network inspection, and log reading to self-diagnose before escalating • Familiarity with SQL or basic data queries is a plus • Familiarity with automation frameworks is a plus • Active, practical use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in a professional or personal workflow — required. We're not looking for AI curiosity; we're looking for AI fluency. • Active, practical use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in a professional or personal workflow — required. • The qualities that matter most • Thoughtfulness: You think about why a feature works a certain way, not just whether it does. You consider the user's mental model and flag when something technically passes but experientially fails. • Thoughtfulness: • Attention to detail: Typos, pixel misalignments, inconsistent error messages — these bother you. You don't let small things slide because "it's probably fine." • Attention to detail: • Proactiveness: You don't wait for a bug to be reported. You ask questions during grooming. You follow up when a fix hasn't been verified. You document known risks so the team can make informed decisions. • Proactiveness: • Clear communication: Written and verbal English is strong — your bug reports, Slack messages, and test plans are easy to understand without needing follow-up clarification. • Clear communication: • You have relentlessly high standards - many people may think your standards are unreasonably high. You are continually raising the bar and driving those around you to deliver great results. You make sure that defects do not get sent down the line and that problems are fixed so they stay fixed. • You’re not bound by convention - your success—and much of the fun—lies in developing new ways to do things • You’re not bound by convention • You need action - speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We value calculated risk-taking. • You need action • You earn trust - you listen attentively, speak candidly, and treat others respectfully. • You earn trust • You have backbone; disagree, then commit - you can respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting. You have conviction and are tenacious. You do not compromise for the sake of social cohesion. Once a decision is determined, you commit wholly. • You have backbone; disagree, then commit • You deliver results - you focus on the key inputs and deliver them with the right quality and in a timely fashion. Despite setbacks, you rise to the occasion and never settle. • You deliver results • What Makes Working at Sezzle Awesome: • At Sezzle, we are more than just brilliant engineers, passionate data enthusiasts, out-of-the-box thinkers, and determined innovators.
